We were entrepreneurs before we were an agency.
The Sass Agency started long before it officially existed.
We met in high school and later both studied Communication. During our second year, one lecture on entrepreneurship sparked an idea: what if we started an agency together?
So, naturally, we went to a coffee shop, came up with an entire plan… and then did absolutely nothing with it.
At least, not yet.
Because while the agency stayed an idea, entrepreneurship was already part of both our lives. Dieuwertje was building her own jewellery brand and webshop, while Sam ran her own nail business. We worked together, modelled for each other, talked business during nail appointments and constantly bounced ideas back and forth.
And somehow, without planning it, we kept making the same choices. The same studies. The same minor. Similar interests. The same ambition to build something of our own.
After graduating, our paths briefly went in different directions. Dieuwertje started working in fashion photography, corporate photography and marketing. Sam continued building her own nail business.
But that agency idea never really disappeared. Until one message changed it from an idea into reality:
“Do you still want to start a company together?”
The answer was yes. And this time, we actually did it.
THAT BECAME THE SASS AGENCY.
Built by two founders with strong opinions, a shared eye for brands and a belief that good content should do more than simply look good.
For us, sass has never been about being loud for the sake of it. It’s about knowing who you are, knowing where you’re going and having the confidence to show it.
That same thinking is at the core of how we work with brands today.
Because being visible is easy. Being recognisable, memorable and unmistakably you is what builds a brand.
